About Jarod
I grew up in small-town Texas before taking a chance on Los Angeles, where I attended the University of Southern California. I graduated with a degree in business and sociology before moving (sight-unseen) to NYC. There I has worked in suicide prevention for The Trevor Project, event planning for Scholastic, and worked in several charter schools as a teacher and administrator. I received my Masters in Special Education at St. John’s University and a Masters in School Leadership at Harvard University. I am now full-time in Vermont and lives with his therapy-dog-in training, Atlas.

My lessons focus on learning specific vocabulary, teaching students to think aloud, and work to make math more accessible. I have a laptop/iPad so able to walk through problems with students. Students will learn to take notes and keep themselves organized!
