She has delivered admissions workshops to 2000+ students worldwide, guided international student cohorts, and worked with learners across writing, art, entrepreneurship, humanities, and leadership development. Her own academic and creative work has earned 30+ national awards, including the Coca-Cola Scholarship, Gates Scholarship, Greenhouse Scholarship, and United Nations Millennium Fellowship. Her artwork has been exhibited in the U.S. Capitol Building, the Art Institute of Chicago’s Modern Wing, and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
Katherrin is professional, energetic, and encouraging. She helps students build confidence, think critically, communicate clearly, and turn their ideas into stronger essays, projects, applications, and creative work.

About the lesson

I teach with an empathetic, structured, and personalized approach. My goal is to help students feel confident, curious, and capable while giving them clear tools they can use beyond our lessons through guided practice, real examples, and tailored feedback.

A typical lesson begins with identifying the student’s goals, reviewing current challenges, and breaking the material into manageable steps. Then, we practice together through examples, exercises, brainstorming, or revision. I end each session with clear takeaways and next steps so students leave knowing exactly how to improve.

What sets me apart is my mix of academic, creative, and mentorship experience. I am a Harvard senior studying Art, Film & Visual Studies, and Psychology, with additional training in Economics and Civic Engagement. I have taught, mentored, and advised students through 15+ education, leadership, and mentorship roles, including admissions workshops for 3,000+ students worldwide. My background in art, writing, entrepreneurship, and public speaking helps me make lessons engaging, practical, and inspiring.

My lessons are best for middle school, high school, and college students interested in writing, college applications, art, entrepreneurship, leadership, humanities, psychology, or communication skills.

Katherrin gave an inspirational presentation to all my classes - grades 9-12 at Lewis HS in Springfield, VA, sharing her life story and what she learned from the example of her parents. She realized she was going to have to work hard in life no matter what - her mantra is: “Life is hard. Choose your hard.” Do you want to be washing dishes at a restaurant most of your life, or do you want to put your effort into school, find your passion, and work hard to achieve your highest potential? She transformed mindsets that day, and thanks to her, students of mine who never thought college was a possibility started thinking they could do it because she was right in front of them—a Latina like them who decided to focus despite all odds, won a full scholarship to Harvard, and was making her dreams come true. If she could do it, they could, too. Katherrin is a natural at motivating students, and that’s key to helping them believe in themselves and succeed. I recommend her highly.

Katherrin is one of the smartest people that I know. She was my teaching fellow (TF) for my Intro to Economics class at Harvard. She was able to explain difficult concepts like no other TF at Harvard. Katherrin would take the time to meet with me at office hours and offer extra support with my psets and help me review for my midterm and final exam.

Outside of the teaching environment, I would also hear great things about Katherrin. She is very kind and is always willing to help her community.
