About Jonathan

I have been teaching for over 20 years to students of all ages and from all backgrounds. I am a graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in London. I also have a grade 8 with distinction from the London College of Music. I have studied privately with some of the finest UK guitar tutors including Justin Sandercoe. I am based in London, but I also teach all over the world online. I am a guitarist in the band Amaya and the Echoes and have also played in several covers and blues bands. If you are a beginner, I will teach you everything you need to know to start playing your favourite songs. If you have some experience, I can help you correct mistakes and get you back on track with regular practice. I also organise regular jam nights and guitar retreats for my students.

About the lesson

Lessons can be online or in person (at my London studio), or your house (for a supplemental fee). I am a very experienced and patient tutor. I teach all ages and abilities. Take grades, prepare for performance or just learn your favourite songs.

Jon is a really fantastic teacher and musical guide - he is patient and creative, especially with someone starting out on the guitar. He helps you to think about goals and to be a bit bolder than you might otherwise feel! I have known him for over 5 years. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a tutor.

Jonathan is a lovely and patient guitar teacher. My son loves him and has learnt so much from him for a short time. His punctuality is great and especially he let the parent staying with children during the lesson if they want to. I definitely recommend Jonathan to my friends

An accomplished guitar player, Jon is a friendly, encouraging and super-patient teacher. He makes learning to play the guitar a lot of fun, spots and helps you rectify common playing errors before they become ingrained, and allows you to learn at your own pace until you’ve mastered a chord, bar or whole tune that at first seemed almost impossible. He’s very strong on music theory too. Thoroughly recommended!

Jonathan has been teaching our 8 year old boy since he was 5. Our boy is saying “Jonathan is such a patient, nice and kind guitar teacher. He always gives me nice tips” So true! Because of his humour, knowledge and wonderful skill of approaching kids our boy loves playing guitar a lot! We always recommend him to someone who wants to take up guitar. Jonathan is the one you should go for it!
