About Iris
I have 9 years of experience teaching guitar and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Guitar Performance and Music Pedagogy. My teaching philosophy emphasizes blending technical mastery with creative expression, helping students find their personal voice while building confidence in performance.
Over the years, I have worked with beginners discovering chords and simple songs, intermediate learners developing improvisation and soloing skills, and advanced students preparing for recitals, auditions, or composition projects. My lessons combine technical exercises, theory, creative exploration, and performance practice, ensuring steady progress and a deep understanding of music.
Teaching guitar is deeply rewarding because I see students transform technical exercises into expressive, confident performance. I aim to nurture creativity, stage confidence, and disciplined practice habits while fostering a lifelong passion for music. My ultimate goal is to guide learners in becoming skilled, expressive, and confident musicians who can enjoy and share their art with others.

My guitar lessons are designed to guide students through the development of both technical skills and expressive musicality. Each session focuses on fingerstyle technique, strumming patterns, chord progression, improvisation, soloing, rhythm, music theory, and performance preparation. I integrate practical exercises, repertoire practice, creative improvisation, and performance simulations to ensure learners make steady progress while remaining motivated and inspired.
I personalize lessons according to the student’s skill level and musical goals. Beginners focus on fundamental chords, strumming, and simple melodies to establish a solid foundation. Intermediate learners explore improvisation, solo techniques, advanced chord structures, and expressive phrasing. Advanced students work on complex compositions, technical mastery, original improvisation, and live performance readiness. Each lesson balances structured guidance with opportunities for creative exploration to help students grow both technically and artistically.
The ultimate goal of my guitar lessons is to help students perform confidently, creatively, and expressively. Students not only gain technical accuracy but also learn to interpret music emotionally and develop a unique style. Through practice and guidance, learners build discipline, independence, and a lifelong connection to music.
