About Rickie
Truthfully, I find silence in the studio more unsettling than a poorly tuned string. I have spent 13 years helping 304 students find their sound through disciplined study.
Holding a Bachelor of Music from the Curtis Institute of Music, I apply conservatory rigor to the fretboard. You will navigate power chords, electric technique, and complex songwriting with precision.
I focus on scales and modes, strumming patterns, and grade exam prep to build your fluency. We will explore fingerpicking, ear training, lead guitar, and blues progressions in a structured manner. I intend to keep our work steady and grounded in musical reality.

Focusing on the mechanics of sound, it really comes down to how your fingers connect with the instrument. I treat guitar as a language requiring 7.0 levels of articulation for any serious player. My background at the Curtis Institute of Music informs how I break down difficult passages for you. We will build your facility with rhythm and tonal control.
I find it enjoyable when a student finally captures the right feel for a blues progression. It is rewarding to watch a student master these techniques over time.
