He has a wealth of experience in musical theatre and with singing more broadly, but the way he can transfer those skills into brilliant teaching is truly something rare. It is a joy and privilege to have him as a teacher, and I would recommend him to anyone!

I’ve taken musical singing lessons with Richard for 6 months and I enjoyed every minute of it.

He is extremely patient, his style of teaching is fun, as an actor I’ve learnt various techniques of warming up and it’s tailored to your specific vocal needs.

By the end of the 6 months I had a range of songs that we worked on every month and I can always pull them out when I need an audition.

I would recommend anyone that is interested in taking their singing seriously all the way to someone who just wants to learn a new hobby. Richard’s calm demeanour caters for it all.

I took singing lessons with Richard for over a year. I had known him as a friend before and our friendship only grew stronger. I came to the first few sessions feeling ashamed of my voice, but Richard showed me how joyous singing can be. I needed someone who could unburden my mind and Richard was just the right teacher. He selected songs and routines that he knew would help me grow, but I was free to suggest as many Ben Platt songs as I wanted. To this day, I use many of the skills and exercises we covered.
