About Samara
ABOUT ME
After completing my BFA in Acting and a minor in Sociology from Ithaca College, I began a successful career as an actress. I worked in film, television, and commercials and spent several years performing Shakespeare in elementary schools throughout the Los Angeles area.
After becoming a mother, I developed a strong interest in exploring the world of literature and storytelling. This interest led me to pursue a career as a literary agent, where I could combine my passion for theater and writing with my industry experience.
As a student, I have always had a passion for learning, particularly in writing, literature, and the performing arts. I enjoy sharing my educational experiences with young people and assisting them in overcoming various challenges they may face in their writing, such as finding their voice or fully developing their work.
Different actors face unique challenges in their craft, such as voice projection, script analysis, or line memorization. With my extensive experience, I can provide comprehensive support to students in all areas of acting.
My background as an agent and performer has enabled me to develop a unique and creative approach to teaching. I believe in fostering inquisitive and exploratory conversations that benefit students and myself. My teaching style is characterized by patience, innovation, and thoughtfulness. I am passionate about acting and writing and committed to supporting my students on their journey towards achieving success and finding joy in their artistic pursuits.

Acting
In acting lessons, I cover a wide range of areas such as line memorization, breathwork for voice and speech, stage voice versus film and television voice, auditioning for stage, film, and television, script analysis, and monologue selection. I teach acting using the Meisner Technique. Developed by performer and instructor Sanford Meisner, the technique focuses on emotional preparation, repetition exercises, and improvisation. The Meisner Technique helps actors connect with their scene partners and gives them methods to respond instinctively to stimuli.
Coaching Skills (included but not limited to)

Samara is the best acting teacher I ever had. She has the kindest, most uplifting spirit and really helps to identify your strengths and weaknesses. With Samaras professionalism and experience, she helped to serve as an advisor through every step of the way, assisting me in landing some of the most significant roles in my career. Samara is truly a gift to this world, and if you want someone that will provide you with a personalized, catered approach, I cannot recommend her enough.
I knew that Samara had spent her entire life dedicated to literacy and writing. She had been a writer’s agent for years, and so I knew I could trust her to help my son Brendan with his writing . Brendan despises writing, but with Samara’s help, guidance , and support she was able to get him to write well! Who knew he had it in him? She brought it out of him with her positive , “can-do” techniques . It wasn’t just about getting him to write well… her tutoring style gave him the confidence to try. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
