Hello, my name is Miss. Greenfield. I am a certified elementary teacher and love seeing students reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally and mentally. I use the multi-sensory approach to tutoring. I enjoy incorporating the following skills in my lessons: visual representation, singing jingles to remember certain content. The following is an example of a lesson plan I would implement: Objective: I can identify the meanings of the following prefixes: dis, mis, un and use them in a sentence. I do: I would use flash cards to introduce these prefixes and discuss that they all mean (Not). I would demonstrate a few examples of sentences using these words. I would discuss the different parts of the words by using a puzzle piece I would have made ahead of time. Together, I would have kids make the flash cards and we would practice together moving around the prefixes and root/base words to form the correct word and discuss the way the word meaning changes. The student or students would then manipulate the puzzle pieces or flash cards around to figure out the words that were given to them to do independently. This would be for grades 4th or 5th grade.
