About Andrea
Who I am My name is Andrea and drums have been my passion since I picked up my first drumsticks at the age of six. My journey began with ten years of lessons and consistent private practice, which led me to the Conservatory of Benevento, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree with honors in Pop/Rock Drums. I am currently continuing to broaden my academic education by simultaneously pursuing a Master's Degree in Drums and a Master's Degree in Sound Engineering: combining instrumental performance with audio production is essential for me to be a modern and well-rounded musician. Alongside my training, I am busy professionally both in the recording studio and on stage: * In the studio: I have had the pleasure of recording pieces for international composers, including Elna Myburg, with synchronized tracks as soundtracks for several Netflix productions and films. I have also recorded albums and recording projects alongside internationally renowned musicians such as Luca Aquino, Carmine Ioanna, Zeljka Milosevic, and many others. * Live: I maintain a constant concert schedule, performing on tour and live at various venues and festivals, primarily in Southern Italy. I currently teach drums at several private schools and academies, mentoring students of all ages and levels. Bringing my teaching online here on Superprof represents a natural evolution and enrichment of my teaching journey, allowing me to reach and support new students wherever they are, sharing my experience gained in the field with passion, method, and the utmost professionalism. The Teaching Method: A Customized Program for You Every drummer has different goals, tempos, and musical tastes: for this reason, there is no standard, rigid program. Based on the student's starting point—whether a complete beginner picking up drumsticks for the first time or an intermediate/advanced musician looking to improve—we will work together to create a personalized program to achieve concrete, tangible results. How the lesson is structured: The work on the instrument is balanced to develop both technical control and musical sensitivity, focusing on five fundamental pillars: * Technique and Posture: Correct setup, grip, rebound control, snare drum basics, and independence of the four limbs to play with fluidity, speed, and avoiding physical tension. * Timekeeping & Groove: In-depth work with the metronome and click training, rhythmic precision, solid timing, and attention to dynamics to learn how to make the piece "walk" with the right rhythmic bearing. * Phrasing and Fills: Construction and practical application of passages on drums and cymbals, linear phrasing, dynamics, and the development of creativity to make your musical ideas effective and consistent with the context. * Musical Styles and Repertoire: Exploration of the languages of modern music (Pop, Rock, Funk, and related genres), study of song structures, score interpretation, and preparation for live and recording studio interaction. * Great Teaching Texts: The course draws on the support of the most important and authoritative internationally recognized drum methods (from Stick Control to Syncopation, to modern texts on coordination and independence), adapted and applied to real music and not just as a mere mechanical exercise. Who is the course for: * Children and teenagers: a practical, fun, and gradual approach to developing coordination and a passion for music. * Adults and beginners: for those who want to start from scratch with a solid foundation and enjoy the satisfaction of immediately playing along with their favorite songs. * Intermediate/Advanced Drummers: For those who want to eliminate technical blocks, perfect their sound, improve their rhythmic reading or prepare for the stage and studio recording.
