About Jake
I love English Literature, and I want to pass that love on to you. I think there is so much life to be lived in the pages of a book, and the words that jump out from the page are yours and can be taken with you through to every chapter of your life. Analysis is not just about finding an answer that will get you the marks, but about understanding why an author has chosen that particular grouping of letters in that specific part of the book or poem. The beauty we can find in words is intoxicating, and that passion is something I want to share with future generations. I always aim to make my lessons fun and engaging to help foster and grow that love for literature within you.

I believe English Literature should be fun and engaging, and I always tailor my lessons to support your needs. I follow the 'I, We, You' method which enables a student to move from dependence - interdependence - independence gradually. A typical lesson from me is between 60 - 90 minutes, and are for Key Stages 3 and 4. I have experience tutoring for students from all backgrounds, and am proud of my ability to build rapport and adapt lessons to the needs of individual students.
