About Claire
Hi, I'm Claire, a writing and editing professional with a Master's degree in Publishing from George Washington University and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Ohio State University. My graduate and undergraduate training gave me a deep understanding of what makes writing clear, compelling, and purposeful, skills I now bring directly to the students I work with.
Over the years I have worked across both academic and professional writing environments, which means I understand not only how to write well, but how to coach others to do the same. I have a sharp editorial eye and a patient, encouraging approach that helps students feel supported rather than overwhelmed.
I am passionate about helping high school students find their authentic voice and present themselves with confidence on the page. College applications can feel daunting, but with the right guidance, every student has a story worth telling and I am here to help you tell yours.

Claire brings graduate-level academic and professional writing expertise to every session, helping high school students transform their college application essays from generic to genuinely compelling.
Each lesson begins with a close read of your draft together, identifying your unique voice and story. Claire then guides you through targeted revisions, strengthening your narrative, tightening your structure, and ensuring your personality shines on the page.
Whether you're tackling your Common App personal statement, supplemental essays, or scholarship applications, every session is tailored to your specific deadlines, school list, and goals. No templates, no cookie-cutter advice — just personalized, expert feedback that helps admissions officers remember your name.
