About Stephanie
Hey, my name is Stephanie Townes, and I have been teaching for 17 years. I enjoy planting positive seeds in my students to let them know that anytime they do math, they can approach it like a game or a puzzle. When playing a game, you must persevere and not give up. When looking at math like a puzzle, you must put together all the pieces(steps) to get your solution. I have great expectations for my students, so when I see someone getting frustrated or wanting to give up, I go the extra mile to boost their confidence and cheer them on.

My teaching method/techniques include incorporating music and videos to make the lesson interesting and to motivate the students to be focused on the lesson being taught. I like using the concrete, pictorial, and abstract approach to help the students start off by getting help by using manipulatives, then pictures, and then gradually growing into an independent thinker that can apply what they learned. I am different from other tutors because I display so much energy and enthusiasm when presenting my lessons. I draw the students' attention with my love and passion for the subject.
