About Oskar
My professional background includes tutoring, non-profit project management, and working as a certified EMT on an ambulance. Across all of these experiences, I became accustomed to working with diverse groups of people in a professional and conscientious way so as to best meet their needs and goals. Tutoring combines the ethic of providing assistance to others with my own passion for intellectual curiosity and growth.
My academic studies are motivated by a passion for research and a desire for positive social impact. Currently, I am a graduate student studying economics with a focus on environmental policy. I hope to share the skills I have learned through my own process of education, so as to build students' academic confidence, curiosity, and capacity to apply knowledge.

I provide tutoring services to k-12 or higher. Sessions begin with check-in, followed by an assessment and activation of prior knowledge relevant to the tasks at hand. For general literacy as well as more focused research projects, we will explore comprehension techniques that support the synthesis of material and confidence in practice.
According to need, my sessions will incorporate guided problem solving with time for independent work by students, followed by review, feedback, and planning ahead. I will support students in developing concrete next steps for any independent work, and also provide them with examples that they can refer to without me. Study skills and organization techniques are emphasized.
