About James
I'm a working actor and a graduate of one of London's top drama schools.
Since graduating, I have worked in theatre, film and television both in the UK and abroad and have taught and directed students for almost a decade, most recently at the well-regarded Rose Theatre Academy in Kingston, west London.

Hi, my name is James! I love telling stories and I love helping people express themselves which means that teaching is a great fit for me! My approach is relaxed and friendly yet focused.
If you have something specific to prepare for, e.g a LAMDA exam or an audition, or if you are just curious and would like to try your hand at acting then I can help.
I recently coached my nephew for his successful audition for the National Youth Theatre, where less than 10% of applicants typically gain entry.
For LAMDA (and beginner) students:
I try to create a comfortable, encouraging space where you can relax and develop confidence as a springboard to doing further work.
For drama school auditions, actors and adults:
For older and/or more confident students I offer a similar but more technical approach including script analysis; handling audition nerves; vocal and physical work and improvisation and a variety of other techniques.
With all students, the essential approach remains the same - everyone brings something unique and special to the table and uncovering and utilising that will make you stand out!
My training at Central was heavily Shakespeare-based so I'm happy to untangle what might seem like an impenetrable mystery to anyone auditioning for drama school or looking to further their knowledge in that area!
I offer private sessions - mostly online but can be available for in-person sessions.
