About Heather

Hi! I'm a registered nurse, graduate student, and mom who has a genuine passion for helping others learn and succeed!

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Missouri State University. Throughout my nursing career and graduate education, I've developed strong communication, writing, critical thinking, and organizational skills. I've also learned how important it is to explain information clearly, patiently, and in a way that makes sense to each individual.

As a mom, I understand how frustrating it can be to watch your child struggle with something they're trying so hard to learn. I also know how much of a difference a little encouragement, patience, and the right support can make!

I believe learning should be a positive experience, and I want every student I work with to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress.

My goal isn't just to help students improve academically, but to help them develop the confidence and skills they need to become successful, independent learners. I would love the opportunity to be part of your student's educational journey!

About the lesson

I believe every student deserves to feel confident, encouraged, and capable of learning! My approach to tutoring is patient, supportive, and personalized to each student's individual needs, learning style, and academic goals.

My lessons focus on building strong foundations in English, reading, writing, literacy, handwriting, and phonics. I understand that no two students learn exactly the same way, so I strive to make lessons engaging, interactive, and easy to understand.

A typical lesson begins with identifying areas where the student feels confident and areas where they may need additional support. From there, we work through targeted activities, guided practice, and real-world examples to strengthen their understanding. I also believe in celebrating small victories because building confidence is just as important as improving academic skills!

As a registered nurse pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing, I bring strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills to my tutoring approach. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace.

Whether your student needs help strengthening foundational reading skills, improving writing abilities, or simply gaining confidence in the classroom, I would love the opportunity to support their learning journey!
