About Justin
Hi, I'm Justin. I'm a Mechatronic Engineering graduate (Honors) from the University of Cape Town and am currently pursuing a Master of Information Technology, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, at the University of Melbourne.
I have over six years of experience as a private tutor, helping students aged 14 to 20 succeed in mathematics and physics at both secondary and tertiary levels. Throughout school, I consistently achieved high distinctions in mathematics and physics, before further developing my knowledge through my engineering studies and current postgraduate degree.
My teaching philosophy is centered around the individual needs of each student. I believe that every student learns at a different pace, so I tailor my lessons to suit their learning style while addressing any conceptual misunderstandings that may have been overlooked in the classroom. I pride myself on being patient, approachable, and supportive, creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and engaging with the material.
Whether you're preparing for exams, catching up on missed concepts, strengthening your understanding of difficult topics, or aiming to get ahead in class, I'm committed to helping you build confidence and achieve lasting improvements in your results.
I offer one-on-one lessons at an hourly rate and have a comprehensive understanding of the mathematics curriculum taught at school level, as well as the analytical skills required for success in university-level engineering and science courses.

I'm a friendly, patient, and approachable tutor who is passionate about helping students build confidence in mathematics and physics. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit their individual pace and learning style.
While achieving strong academic results is an important goal, I believe that developing a genuine understanding of the underlying concepts is just as valuable. I place a strong emphasis on addressing conceptual misunderstandings that are often overlooked in the classroom, and I enjoy finding intuitive ways to explain challenging topics so they become easier to understand and relate to. My aim is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, thinking critically, and developing the confidence to tackle problems independently.
