About Tara
Hello! My name is Tara, and I have just graduated from studying Mathematics and Statistics at university, and am starting a Master's degree in Medical Statistics this coming year - clearly, I love maths! I also have lots of experience in teaching roles, such as being an English teacher in Germany and teaching maths in primary schools, as well as being both a swimming and pottery instructor when I was younger! I really enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge with others to help them achieve big things! :)

I offer hour-long lessons in Mathematics and Physics related subjects for GCSE and A-Level students (15-18 years old) of all abilities :) I hold a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages qualification, and I have years of experience in teaching English in Germany, so am confident in my ability to explain foreign concepts clearly. I also have experience teaching in primary schools, including a placement as a maths teacher as part of a Mathematical Education course that I took. This year I have tutored my younger sister and her friends for their maths GCSE examinations. Through this experience, I have found that one of the most effective ways to learn is by doing, and so place a strong emphasis on finding techniques to solve problems. I believe it is important to not only know how to apply mathematical methods, but also understand how they work and where they come from, and so place a great focus on this when explaining concepts (which also makes them easier to remember in an exam!).
