About Rebecca
I have a deep love of English literature and English language, the texts studied at GCSE and A-level offer incredible insights into the past, other worlds; and can challenge how we think of ourselves and our culture. Tutoring English invites interesting and exciting discussions on themes that still impact our lives today, ideas around gender, class and race are all present in texts studied at GCSE and A-level. The opportunity to share my knowledge, encourage discussion and help students form their own ideas and opinions on texts is key to why I tutor.

My tutor sessions are approximately an hour long and are flexible to meet your needs. I am always guided by exam board specification and have a thorough understanding of the AQA board in particular.
My teaching style is interactive and hands-on. We will focus on the text as a whole as well as develop close readings of important passages. I also put emphasis on historical contexts, literary theory and criticism to enrich the studied texts.
I have tutored English Literature and English GCSE previously, and my classes are aimed at pupils in years 10 -13. I have achieved a BA (hons) and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge. I am currently undertaking a Doctoral Research Position at the University of Cambridge.
As well as academic tutoring, I am also available to help students wishing to complete Personal Statements or any written work required for University Entrance exams.
