About Marshall
My students call me Mr. Horne, and my interests revolve around all things literature, including reading, analyzing, and writing. In particular, I enjoy helping students develop skills with literary analysis, poetry, creative writing, and essay writing.
I work to foster the ability to think critically, creatively, and analytically--all skills that transfer just about anywhere!
I have over 9 years of experience as a certified Secondary English Educator. I have experience teaching English courses that include British Literature, American Literature, and Creative Writing at the level of College Preparation and Honors.

A typical lesson of mine will:
- begin with a warm-up prompt to introduce a theme of the lesson.
-then transition into content such as readings or overview of skills to develop.
-Then put the content and skills into practice for assessment
-And adjust pacing and steps, as needed.
My lessons work with students of all levels of experience and all learning styles.
