About Daniel
Hello, my name is Daniel Petersen and I am a PhD student studying biophysics. One of the attractions of academic research to me from a young age was the teaching aspect. I love to learn, and helping others through the learning process is one of the most fulfilling experiences. I hope I get the opportunity to meet you and help you out with your math or physics!

I will typically start a session by having a discussion with the student to gauge what they are learning and/or struggling with at the moment. Next, I provide a couple of example problems that I have the student work through with me. What sets me apart as a tutor is the way I work through problems with students. I avoid giving students the correct answers and instead ask them probing questions to encourage them to think through the problem themselves. I have tutored students from 4th grade to college level this way with great success and have found that it is a technique which not only helps the student to learn, but builds their intellectual confidence.
