About Ashley
I first gained experience as an English and Writing tutor in 2015 when I began working with university-aged students from a wide diversity of backgrounds who needed assistance with their college-level papers and projects. I was successful in aiding *all* students (English Second Language learners included), regardless of discipline, in becoming stronger, more self-assured writers and students. This required me to adapt a very personalised approach to teaching, which I still utilise to this day.
Now, in 2022, I have successfully completed both a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, San Diego in Sociology: Law and Society with a minor in Political Science, as well as a Master of Science Degree from the University of Oxford in Sociology. I finished my first degree with honours (Summa Cum Laude) and graduated top of my class with High Distinction. Further, the dissertation I produced for my B.A. was awarded the Honour of 'Outstanding Academic Paper Award for an Exemplary Academic Paper' from the UC San Diego Department of Sociology.
I feel that my academic experiences and successes represent, more than words ever could, what qualifies me to be the best possible tutor for you and, moreover, explicates the reasons why you should put your trust in me. Beyond being a successful student and writer myself, I maintain a strong passion for English and Writing from a disciplinary perspective and, moreover, am incredibly passionate about helping other students feel confident enough to find their voice through writing and, more broadly, their education as whole.
