About Christian
My name is Christy, and I have recently graduated from university. I am keen to tutor English as, through my university studies and own wider reading, I have cultivated a passion for both literature and language. I am to inspire a passion for the subject in all prospective students, who will no doubt benefit from my own extensive knowledge and ardour for the course of study. Above all, I want students to feel comfortable in the sessions, whether they are making mistakes or succeeding. Learning is not a linear journey, but one where failure is inevitable, and only with tolerance can true potential be achieved.

I believe learning should be engaging, informative, and above all, adaptable and designed specifically to the student's needs. My lessons are conducted in a comfortable environment, where the student has time to think, and the license to express themselves authentically. In the free introductory session, I will introduce myself and my teaching method to the student, as well as gauging their strengths and weaknesses.
My lessons are typically between 30 minutes and 1 hour. I have a First-Class Bachelors degree in English and American Studies from the University of Nottingham, as well as a familiarity with the GCSE and A-Level curriculums, thanks to my A-level qualifications in both Literature and Language, and informal tutoring conducted with siblings and younger students at school. I have also worked as a lifeguard tutor and a Beaver Scout Young Leader.
I teach GCSE and A-Level students of all abilities.
