About Joey
I am a college graduate who studied creative writing, and I worked in our certified Writing Lab, helping students everyday with their assignments. I am very easy-going and positive. When I was in high school, English was not my strong subject, and it scared me to sit down and write a paper. Now that I've discovered how easy it can be, I want to share it with you! We can become better writers together.

My goal as a tutor is to provide students with the tools they need to have confidence in their own voice and writing abilities. The writing process looks different for everyone, so working with students through conversation and practice is the best way to get those gears turning! I typically like to ask questions for brainstorming, writing down the student's responses. If you can speak, you can write, so then all that is left is helping students take what they've said and get it to sound more appropriate for an essay or paper.
Whether it's a paper for English, Biology, History, or a scholarship application, I can help students become the best writer they can be. Writing should not feel like this overwhelming task; by the time we are done, students feel confidence and excited to share their work with their teacher or professor.
