About Josh
My name's Josh and I am a graduate of Leeds University in Biology and I am now working towards my PhD at the University of Bristol where I study animal behaviours, specifically in invasive species! I am keen to tutor because I really enjoy teaching and have a lot of experience tutoring and writing educational content over the last 5 years (MyTutor, StudySmarter). I have been able to develop my lesson style over this period to make them as engaging and informative as possible!

My lessons are exciting and engaging! We will begin with a fun warm-up activity such as flash cards, categories, or a quick-fire quiz. Then we will move onto the content, which will involve a back and forth between me and the student as we work through the topic together. We will make notes together with clever devices for remembering key terminology so the student can easily come back to them later. We will then run through some exam-style scenarios together and I will cover a range of potential questions based off the student’s level. Finally, the student will have a go at exam-style questions on their own, and we will go through them together. We will also discuss where the student is excelling and struggling in the topic, and then make a plan for next time!
