About Gemma
I have been teaching for almost 10 years. I loved my classrooms however I find tutoring suits me better. I'll take the time to get to know what you like and don't like so I can fit my lessons around you. I can always find a way to include your hobbies and interests into my lessons. We can use food, vehicles, even video games to help you understand. We won't spend our lessons playing Minecraft but you'd be surprised how useful it could be in most mathematical concepts

My lessons are designed to be fun and memorable. I am a big believer in my lessons being delivered in a way which feels a lot more fun and casual, therefore memorable. I am incredibly patient and I understand that every child learns in their own way and will adapt my lessons accordingly to each individual.
My typical lessons last around an hour but I will work to your needs as best as I can. I have done 3 hour sessions in the past and also 30 minute cram sessions, so I am happy to work with you to create your perfect lesson.
I have a BA Hons in Teaching, Learning, and Child Development. I studied for 3 years during which I was placed into 2 different schools to teach full classes. I have also worked for various tutoring companies over the past few years. During the pandemic I also became a stay at home mum teaching my own children as well as group sessions with friends and family, many of who had special needs.
My classes are aimed at primary school children. I am incredibly confident with the National Curriculum, specifically in mathematics. I do also offer classes for secondary school children in mathematics and have supported many individuals with their GCSEs
