About João Vitor
Hi there, my name is João, and I just graduated Berklee College of Music. In my time there, one of the most valuable experiences I had was working with tutoring, and I really want to continue my journey on that path.
Throughout the last few years, I have worked in various areas of music, writing both concert and media music, working as a drummer and also music director and arranger!
As one would expect, I am very eclectic and also have worked with students of various levels and musical tastes. In the end, I truly believe that being more comfortable with our musical theory only helps with our creativity and expression, and hopefully, I can help you apply to whichever objectives yours might be.

Lessons are tailored to each student according to their needs and objectives. Especially with songwriters and composers, I will establish small writing prompts so I can review and give suggestions in the next lesson.
While the start of the lesson focuses on this review, the main chunk of it focuses on new theoretical concepts that develop from the last lesson's knowledge. I always plan to have real music examples to go with this concept and encourage the tutee to play all examples too.
I consider my lessons valuable for those ranging from undergraduate music students who need extra help in their courses to non-musicians who want to feel more comfortable with composition/songwriting tools.
