About Kiara
Currently working as an in-person English auxiliar (helper) in Spanish classrooms. My responsibilities include helping introduce new grammar, vocabulary, giving presentations, and helping students through their discovery of language. I am also currently gaining my TEFL qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). This enables me to teach classrooms of most levels and ages, as well as giving me the tools to be an effective and engaging teacher through my lessons. I have a combined Bachelor of Arts (High Achievers) from the University of Flinders in Australia. I specialized in Creative Writing, International Relations, Spanish, and History. Each of these subjects gave me varying command over the English lexicon, as well as the understanding of language functions.

My tutoring sessions are fun, engaging, and easy to follow. I believe it is vital that a student is given the resources to discover answers for themselves, whilst also feeling supported and guided by their teacher.
My typical lessons start with a brief, fun lead in introducing the topic, followed by some explaining of theory or grammar. I will then give you exercises where you can start to experiment with the target subject, and where I am on standby to help correct any early mistakes. Finally, I like to end classes with an open discussion that introduces the concept learned back into your general knowledge of English, so that fluency and integration of learning can be achieved.
I teach anywhere from age 10 upwards. My classes are complete immersion in English (unless you are a Spanish speaker, which can be privately negotiated) and therefore I require some previous knowledge of English.
