About Gabriel
I'm 23 years old, and I am really passionate about teaching and helping students, which is why I am currently studying to obtain my master's in teaching. I understand that writing isn't everyone's strong suit. My overall goal isn't just to help students improve with their work, but their writing abilities overall. Working with students for 4 years has provided me the experience to be able to guide students down the path for improvement with their writing abilities.

I've worked as a writing tutor at the university's writing center for 4 years. I've worked with students of all ages at different moments in their educational career, from undergraduates to graduate students. I've also gone over/worked on middle and high school students' essay writing for my classes. My goal is to empower students to express themselves and to encourage self-confidence in their writing. My approach to tutoring writing will differ from student to student, but generally, I am non-direct. Using a non-directive approach allows the student to take ownership of his or her own paper and inspires independence in future writing. So, in each circumstance, I will encourage the student to take control of his or her paper while offering non-direct questioning and/or suggestions.
