About Amai
I am an A-level student
I have lots of experience in working to develop children. I have been volunteering with sports coaching since 2016 and school mentoring since 2017
As a tutor, I aim to bring the best out of pupils in a relaxed, approachable environment. My teaching revolves around the notion that a pupil should feel free to ask me anything (however silly it may seem to them!)

I make my teaching suited to the individual style of the pupil; pushing them towards developing their own learning style. I like to approach lessons in a holistic manner, allowing students to understand links between different topics. In a typical lesson, I would first ask a pupil to explain what he doesn't understand and why, then I would aim to help my pupil understand this topic to a level where they could explain it comfortably to a beginner. I strongly believe that if you can't describe a concept without simplicity and without using technical jargon, you don't truly understand it. I can provide questions and help a pupil to work through them step-by-step. After a pupil has understood a topic, I would help them to develop exam technique, teaching them how to write the best answers and unlock the most marks.
