About Alaa
Welcome! My name is Alaa, and I’m an Honors Electrical Engineering major at the University of Houston with a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and engineering concepts. I offer tutoring that is not only academically rigorous but also focused on building confidence and long-term success.
My approach is structured, efficient, and tailored to each student. I begin by identifying your current level of understanding, then create a targeted plan to close gaps, reinforce strengths, and help you reach your academic goals. I emphasize clear explanations, real-life applications, and active practice—because true learning comes from doing, not just watching.
What You Can Expect from My Sessions:
-A customized lesson plan aligned with your coursework and pace
-Step-by-step problem-solving with detailed explanations
-Real strategies to help you study smarter and retain information longer
-Respect for your time, your goals, and your learning preferences
I’ve worked with students from high school through college, including those in AP-level STEM courses and university-level engineering and physics classes. I’m also experienced in tutoring students with test anxiety, learning differences, and time management challenges.
I take my role seriously—punctuality, preparedness, and professionalism are my standard. Whether you're preparing for an exam, struggling with a specific concept, or looking to get ahead, I bring both the expertise and the dedication to help you succeed.

As a tutor, my approach is centered around clarity, engagement, and adaptability. I believe that no two students learn the same way, so I always begin by understanding a student’s learning style, academic goals, and areas of difficulty. From there, I adapt my teaching methods, whether through visual aids, step-by-step problem solving, or real-world analogies, to ensure concepts are understood deeply, not just memorized.
Teaching Methods & Techniques
Interactive Learning: I encourage active participation through questioning, guided practice, and collaborative problem-solving.
Simplification: I break down complex topics into digestible parts to avoid overwhelming the student.
Customized Strategies: I tailor explanations to suit the student’s background, whether they're visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learners.
Confidence-Building: I regularly incorporate positive reinforcement and help students develop independent learning strategies.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Quick Recap (5–10 mins) – Review previous material or homework to reinforce memory.
New Concept (20–30 mins) – Introduce a new topic with examples and analogies.
Practice (20 mins) – Work through problems together and provide immediate feedback.
Review & Strategy (5–10 mins) – Summarize the session and outline study strategies or homework to reinforce learning.
What Sets Me Apart
Dual Passion for STEM & Communication: As an Honors Electrical Engineering major, I bring both analytical precision and the ability to explain tough topics clearly.
Mentorship Mindset: Beyond academic support, I help students build confidence, discipline, and a growth mindset.
Experience Across Levels: I have tutored for both high school and college students and currently work as a tutor for the University of Houston
Who My Lessons Are For
High school students: Pre-AP/AP Physics, Calculus, and Algebra
University students: Engineering mathematics, Calculus, University Physics
Students preparing for exams: SAT Math or ACT Math/Science
Students with learning accommodations: I offer patient, structured guidance tailored to neurodiverse learners.
