I’m Luke and I grew up in a small village on the coast of South Africa, near a town not-so-oddly called East London. I live in south-east London now, on the banks of a muddy river. I teach writing and reading.

I work as a professional writer in heavy industry and I know how to make words have the biggest impact on the people to whom they appear to matter the least.
Someone’s willing to pay me to convince semi-literate miners not to die… actually, let’s forget all that…
Why don’t we live a little and I’ll share with you my greatest obsession — fiction.
I’ll teach you how to read literature and write it well. I’ll teach how you to forego genres and quite frankly try something a little better than most slop out there. I might not get you published— that’s your job — but I can teach you how to write something you’re proud enough of to send to someone other than your mother.
