About James
I am a university student with a genuine enthusiasm for helping young people feel capable in subjects that can often seem intimidating. I understand how stressful GCSE preparation can feel, and I want students to leave lessons clearer, more confident and better equipped to tackle questions independently.
I achieved straight grade 9s at GCSE, including Maths and Chemistry, as well as an A in Additional Mathematics. I then achieved A* grades in A-level Maths, Chemistry and Biology. These results reflect both strong subject knowledge and the effective revision methods I can pass on to students.
I am patient, approachable and organised, and I enjoy adapting explanations until a student finds the version that makes sense to them. Whether the goal is building confidence, catching up on missed content or aiming for top grades, I will provide focused, encouraging support.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s current level, goals and exam board. In the first session, we will identify strengths, gaps in knowledge and the topics that will make the biggest difference to their grade.
For GCSE Maths and Chemistry, I explain difficult ideas clearly and step by step before using worked examples and exam-style questions to build confidence. Students will not just memorise methods; they will learn how to recognise the right approach independently under exam conditions.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes and are suitable for GCSE Foundation and Higher-tier students, including Combined and Triple Science Chemistry. I achieved straight 9s at GCSE, an A in Additional Mathematics, and A* grades in A-level Maths, Chemistry and Biology. Having completed these qualifications recently, I can share effective revision strategies alongside subject teaching.
Each lesson is friendly, structured and focused on measurable progress, whether the aim is to secure a pass, improve confidence or work towards the highest grades. I am happy to offer a discounted introductory session to discuss goals and make sure the lessons are a good fit.
