About Artem
Hi, I’m Artem. I hold an offer to study Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London and am predicted four A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
I currently tutor an A-Level student who began studying Further Maths at the end of Year 12. To help them catch up, we are covering Year 2 A-Level Maths alongside Year 1 Core Pure Maths. We work efficiently through various examples, and I explain new concepts, methods and connections as they arise. This has given me experience teaching a large amount of unfamiliar material at pace while ensuring that the underlying foundations remain secure.
I have one year of one-to-one tutoring experience across GCSE and A-Level. I enjoy helping students develop confidence in maths rather than simply memorising methods. My aim is to explain the reasoning behind each step so that students can tackle unfamiliar questions independently.
Having completed these courses recently, I still remember the mistakes I made and the topics I initially found confusing. This helps me recognise where students are likely to struggle and explain ideas from a perspective that is easier to understand.

When covering unfamiliar material, I often use a worked-example-led approach. We move through carefully selected examples while pausing to explain why each step works and how the method connects to previous knowledge. This allows us to cover content efficiently without reducing maths to a list of rules to memorise. For students who would benefit from additional practice, I can also provide focused homework with answers.
I also encourage students to explain their thinking as they solve problems. This helps me identify misunderstandings quickly so that we can address them before moving on to more challenging questions.
