About Hugh
I am a first-year Politics student at King's College London with a strong academic background, having achieved straight As at A-level and predominantly Grade 9s at GCSE, including 97% in English Literature.
Alongside my studies, I worked in tuition from July 2024 to October 2025, supporting both 11+, GCSE and A-level students. I have experience working with students of different abilities, including those who experience learning difficulties, and understand the importance of patience, encouragement and adapting to individual needs.
As a former Deputy Head Student, I also developed strong communication and leadership skills and regularly supported younger students at school. I am friendly, reliable and passionate about helping students grow in confidence and achieve their academic goals.

I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to their individual needs, adapting my teaching style, pace and lesson structure accordingly. I have experience working with students of different abilities, including those who experience learning difficulties, and aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
I am happy to adapt the length of lessons to suit the student, whether they would benefit from shorter, focused sessions or longer lessons with more in-depth teaching and exam practice.
I primarily tutor GCSE and A-level English Literature and Biology, having achieved straight As at A-level and predominantly Grade 9s at GCSE, including 97% in GCSE English Literature. I also have experience tutoring 11+ and GCSE students and am open to helping with other GCSE subjects, including English Language, Maths, Geography and Design & Technology.
My lessons are suitable for students looking to improve their understanding, build confidence, strengthen exam technique or work towards the highest possible grades.
