About Arran
Hi, I'm Arran! Outside my degree, I have a passion for theatre having acted in many shows and musicals over the years and am an avid football fan! I also play football and cricket at university and like to consider myself as an approachable person at all times.
I like to keep an eye on financial markets and foreign policy - It's part of the reason why economics and maths stand out to me rather than just numbers and specific ideas to memorise.
I also play the piano and guitar, which have helped me to break down hard tasks into manageable steps and staying patient in hard times. The reason I got into tutoring is because I remember how hard GCSEs and A-Levels were, and having that helping hand is always useful.

I completed my A-Levels last year, achieving A*A*AA (Maths, Economics, Further Maths and an EPQ) and am in my 2nd year studying Economics at the University of Warwick, having achieved a 2:1 in my first year - From completing my exams so recently, I know what the current specifications for both GCSE and A-Levels require and which topics students often trip up on. Having sat these exams myself, I know the best ways to reduce these mistakes and ensure your child can achieve a top grade.
Lessons are centred around your child. I will always prioritise specific topics they may struggle with so we can then work on a structured plan to go over these topics and look at the exam technique examiners are looking for. I like to keep you and your child updated every few lessons so if there are any concerns these can be flagged up easily.
Beyond my subject knowledge, I have spent the last two years building skills that make lessons enjoyable and to ensure the lessons actually have meaning rather than just teaching content alone - engaging in a peer mentoring scheme with Barnardo's and having tutored at Kumon for many years - I am genuinely invested in getting results.
