About Julian
I am a 23 year old graduate from Durham University, where I obtained a First Class Honours degree in Arabic and Spanish. I am now training with a professional services firm to become a chartered accountant, and am giving private tuition in Mathematics and Modern Languages on the side.
Born in the UK to an English mother and an Italian father, I have always been passionate about languages and education in general. I studied A-Levels in Mathematics, Chemistry, Spanish, French, and Italian and thoroughly enjoyed tutoring alongside them. My experience as an online tutor led me to undertake a teaching placement as part of my Year Abroad in Madrid, Spain, which gave me formal experience and taught me new pedagogical techniques.

I take a practical approach to my lessons, aiming to engage the student as much as possible through participation and practice paper questions. My lessons are typically one hour long unless requested otherwise.
For Mathematics, I teach GCSE level. I have experience teaching Maths both online and in person, and have found that working through practice questions is the most effective method of improvement.
For Spanish and Italian, I teach all abilities. I have a First Class Honours degree in Arabic and Spanish from Durham University, and also have Italian heritage. My experience teaching these languages both online and in person in a private language academy has given me a sense of how students learn languages.
