About Max
My name's Max. I have just finished my A-levels and am currently taking a GAP year and applying to top universities for mathematics. Having been undiagnosed with ADHD prior to A-level, and being in bottom set maths I was predicted a 4 at GCSE. Then I got a maths tutor, achieved a 7, and against all advice took maths and further maths A-level. From being predicted to fail by my school I took my grades from DDE, to CCD by the end of 1st year. Then in my January mocks, I got A*AB, then finally at A-level A*A*A. So I have a lot of experience of effective revision, and am a first-hand example you can always improve. At school I often helped lower years with their maths & physics, I am patient, upbeat and keen to help other people in the way my tutor did for me.

I will have a free lesson to get to know you and your background in maths, and introduce myself. Then we’ll make a list of things you're least confident in, and make those your most comfortable topics entirely at your own pace, you just keep a list of what your top priorities are. None of that, let’s underline the entire syllabus then skip through it in an hour rubbish. It’s all about what you’re confident and not confident on. I am very flexible at catering to individual learning styles. As someone who struggled with ADHD at school, I know how big a difference catering your teaching and being patient can make to someone’s confidence. My lessons are for anyone who wants to improve their trajectory for maths GCSE, and also their confidence with maths in general, and … hopefully help people love it as much as I do. I’ll also build in advice about the revision systems and methods I developed during my time at GCSE & A level and what you can do to improve as quickly as possible. (not even kidding I was accused of cheating in my physics A-level mock because I had improved so much)
