Hi! I scored 92 in Section 2 of the GAMSAT in March 2026. I'm also a PhD candidate in Philosophy & Psychology at Stanford. I've been touring and lecturing undergraduates for 6 years, here and at the University of Sydney, across a range of courses. I love teaching philosophy to STEM students, and science to philosophy students.
Alongside that, I've had solo work published in academic journals and public-facing magazines. A recent piece was a finalist for the Aeon Philosophy Prize.
I spend my working life teaching people to think through complex problems and communicate their ideas clearly and persuasively. Whatever your starting point, I'd love to help you do well in Section 2!

Lessons are 1:1 and highly personalised. I offer a free consultation where I'll get to know you—your goals, strengths, areas of improvement, and learning style.
I also offer advanced essay marking ($50/essay, $120/three), which includes detailed inline comments and targeted redrafting tasks. You're welcome to try this before committing to a lesson. And after each lesson, I'll send written feedback by email, so you always have a clear record of what we covered and what to work on next.
There are a ~vast~ number of ways to succeed in Section 2. I can teach you my preferred approach, or help you find and refine your own.
Whatever the approach, my goal is to help you express your own ideas with clarity, rigor, and charisma. The best S2 responses are insightful, genuine, and a pleasure to read. These are difficult things to do well—but they are absolutely learnable!
It is essential to be strategic and efficient in your preparation and on exam day—I can help you with both. I also cover essay structure, grammar and style, drawing on personal experience, and common traps and myths (I disagree with a lot of the S2 advice I see out there!). And I'll show you how to use secondary resources well, including how to use AI chatbots—and when not to.
A flavour of how I approach tutoring: I feel strongly that rote-learned templates, essay-writing "hacks", and other shortcuts tend to produce responses that are superficial, generic, and fragile (namely, when the prompt is challenging, you'll struggle to adapt; when it's straightforward, you'll struggle to stand out).
It is far better to build the underlying skills: interpreting a prompt, generating an idea, and exploring it with depth and originality—so you can deftly handle whatever comes up on the day.
You do not need to be a trained or naturally talented writer to do this well. In fact, a common mistake I see is students trying to imitate and force a formal, academic, or 'writerly' voice—which is a sure-fire way to undermine both the quality of your thinking and your control of language. Simple, direct, authentic writing is always better. I can help you find and develop your natural voice.
