About Tim
Having graduated from Newcastle University with a 2.1 in Mathematics, I went on to do my teacher training in the North East and have had extensive experience Teaching Secondary Mathematics. I have a passion for learning and all things maths and have been tutoring students throughout my degree.

I have a very friendly and patient approach with all my students and find that working on a one-to-one basis is much more effective than a classroom setting. It allows me to cater to the individual needs of every student, creating an engaging, effective and enjoyable learning environment. I have an enhanced DBS Check and have had safeguarding training to ensure a safe learning environment. I am very competent with technology and will use a Interactive whiteboard so students can see what I write in real time, and also add things to the board themselves, though most students prefer to work on paper and hold it up to the webcam. I make use of Google Drive for document sharing and am available to questions via Email out of lesson hours.

I was Tim's Tutor when he trained as a teacher here at Newcastle University as one of the 2020-21 Secondary PGCE cohort. He is a very knowledgable, unassuming and pleasant person who had a great classroom manner and developed excellent professional relationships with his pupils and colleagues alike. If you are after a kind tutor who knows the maths curriculum well, and who can explain things simply and clearly, Tim is definitely worth a call.
