About Charlotte
Upon completing my BA in history, I went into teaching to inspire my students to love the subject as much as I do. I have now completed the top-ranked Teach First graduate programme and have worked as a history teacher in secondary schools, developing my practice, for the last four years. Therefore, I can offer strong subject knowledge, passion and evidence-based teaching strategies to a wide range of students. I hope you will get in touch!

As a teacher, I focus on evidence-based strategies to help students get the most out of their learning.
My lessons are planned according to individual student needs. However, in a typical lesson I will encourage a question based approach, focusing on historical sources and big questions to encourage curiosity. I see each lesson as part of a sequence of learning, and will interleave material to promote maximum memory recall. I will usually conclude a lesson with a focus on writing strategies, mirroring the typical question format of the exam if it is relevant.
As a Teach First participant and qualified teacher, I am able to offer students 11-16 a method based on my own years of experience in the classroom. I only use strategies which have a proven record of effective practice, in order to ensure my students both make progress and enjoy learning.
