About Valentine

I want to teach French because I genuinely enjoy helping others connect with a new language and culture. As a native speaker who has lived in the UK for several years and worked in international environments, I understand how language can open doors — not just professionally, but personally and socially. Teaching gives me the chance to share not just grammar and vocabulary, but also the cultural richness and real-life use of the French language. I’ve seen how much of a difference the right support can make — whether it’s helping a student pass an exam, feel confident speaking in public, or finally understand that tricky bit of French pronunciation. Coming from a large family and having taught maths before, I’ve always been drawn to education. I’m patient, flexible, and love seeing learners grow. For me, teaching French isn’t just about rules — it’s about helping people feel comfortable, confident, and capable in expressing themselves. That’s what makes it rewarding.

About the lesson

Bonjour! I’m a native French speaker with over 4 years of experience living in the UK and a background working for British international companies. I understand the challenges of learning a new language and how to overcome them with a practical, tailored approach. As a former maths tutor, I’ve helped students reach their academic goals – from passing crucial exams to gaining confidence in their abilities. Coming from a big family, I’m patient, adaptable, and used to working with children and teens, as well as adult learners. Whether you’re learning French for travel, work, school, or just for fun, I’ll create a personalised learning plan based on your goals. From speaking and pronunciation to reading and listening, I’ll help you build real fluency – the kind that gets you understood in real-world situations. I believe that fluency isn’t about perfection – it’s about communication, confidence, and cultural understanding. Let’s work together to make French feel natural and enjoyable.

Valentine has a structured and kind method that allowed me to be comfortable learning. French is a hard language but she made it accessible for me: she established trust, and adapted her lessons to my pace. I highly recommend Valentine !
