About Elaine
I have been a classroom teacher for 9 years and thoroughly enjoy sharing my love of science with students. I get great enjoyment from teaching students and seeing their knowledge, ability and confidence grow. I have tutored students online and in person since 2020, and again I have found this rewarding and a nice contrast to the 'buzz' of the classroom.
In 2022, I achieved my Master's in Learning and Teaching from the University of Oxford. I undertook this course to improve my teaching practice and ensure that everything that I was doing was research informed and benefiting the students that I teach.

Lessons involve a mix of learning content, linking to real world examples and practising questions to consolidate knowledge. With 9 years' teaching experience, I am quickly able to adapt lessons to the needs and learning style of each pupil. My approachable and patient nature means that students feel comfortable to ask for help when they don't understand something. Lessons will improve knowledge, confidence and exam technique where appropriate.
Lessons are for KS3, GCSE and A Level.
