About Arjun
I am a friendly 20 year old final year university student, currently studying History at the University of Warwick I have achieved 8A* at GCSE, and A*A*A at A-Level. I am particularly interested in tutoring Latin and English Literature, in which I achieved A* at both GCSE and A-Level.
I have tutored at many different levels, and find that is an extremely rewarding and fulfilling experience.My tutoring experience has included tutoring at SAT level, as well as Common Entrance for 13+ entry. My hours are flexible, and I do not have a strict, or rigid teaching style. I find that the style of tutoring is dependent on the tutee, and so I would develop my tutoring based on the nature and needs of you.
We will start with setting out some goals and outlining areas of specific strength and weakness to develop a structured plan of lessons. This should ensure that we cover all the areas we set out to but we can maintain flexibility to focus on topics that students find harder.
I will aim to help a student really understand the subject so that they are fully equipped to answer any kind of question. We will practice applying that understanding to a variety of question types to prepare students for examinations.
I have done private tutoring in the past and I found it so rewarding to help students and watch their improvement. They all went on to be very successful at GCSE level. I think teaching in schools can be very formulaic and does not suit everybody. So often the teachers at school are not able to engage with their students and answer a student's questions. I believe the most important aspect of learning is understanding and I believe one of my biggest strengths is being able to explain to students exactly how something actually works. Once a topic is fully understood it is much easier to answer any type of question.
Aside from academia and tutoring, my hobbies include going to watch Chelsea every other week, attempting to complete the entirety of Netflix, and running the park run every Saturday morning.
