About Bella

Hello,
Finding the right tutor for you or for your child is crucial, and I pride myself in creating a safe, inclusive and supportive space for learning in my digital classroom.
I have experience teaching students from as young as 5 years old all the way to those of retirement age, both in schools and community groups and have met all kinds of different learners throughout my years of teaching. I am happy to meet you where you are and decide our goals together.

What to expect:
My speciality is KS2 English Grammar, Comprehension and Vocabulary (ages 7-11), however, I have plenty of experience with KS3 and adult learners too.
On Superprof or Zoom, I deliver 1 hour online sessions 3 days a week at a time that is convennient for us both to focus on the area(s) of English that you would most like to work on.
My lessons include 1-2-1 conversation practice, reading and listening comprehension with concept checking questions, grammar tasks and vocabulary improvement as well as creative writing.

I am able to cover GCSE, A Level and IB syllabuses as well as deliver personalised creative writing and essay writing sessions. We will work together to develop a lesson plan that suits you best and helps you meet your English goals.

A little about me:
I have always loved English Literature and Creative Writing and am passionate about sharing and instilling that love in my students.
I have a published poetry collection, ('Sikiliza', Flipped Eye, 2023) alongside publication in multiple anthologies. I am a regular performer and commissioned writer which enriches my workshop facilitation work.

I look forward to discovering the best ways to develop your English with you!

About the lesson

I like to create a calm, collaborative, fully inclusive learning environment in my classrooms. By building a comfortable rapport that allows room for mistakes and asking questions, we will explore the best ways to help you learn and develop your English speaking, reading and writing skills.

Our lessons will be tailored to suit your time frame and needs, with our first (free) session spent getting to know each other, setting out your goals and discussing the best ways for me to assist you in reaching them.
I am happy to offer everything from simple topic-focussed 1-to-1 conversations, to detailed comprehension exercises and essay tasks, to creative writing stimulus and editing tips. Lessons can be as serious or as playful as you would like and can happen once or twice a week depending on availability.

Lessons will be paid for in advance, start punctually at the time agreed, and any cancellations must be made 24hours in advance via email so as not to incur a fee.

I look forward to meeting you and beginning our learning journey together!

Perfect! Bella has been a wonderful teacher to work with. Her approach is thoughtful and encouraging, and she has a way of asking questions that gently push you to think more deeply rather than offering easy answers. Through our lessons she’s opened my eyes to the creative possibilities within poetry, helping me see language not just as something to use, but something to listen to and explore. I’ve come away with valuable insights and a renewed curiosity for writing that I didn’t have before. Thank you!

Perfect! I highly recommend Bella as a teacher and look forward to the next lessons with her. Bella is an attentive listener, and not only in terms of my English pronunciation and grammatical errors.
She asked me about my learning goals and developed a lesson plan based on them. In addition, Bella is 101% focused during the lesson. The atmosphere in the classroom is friendly and respectful, so I am not afraid of making mistakes. Her error corrections are competent and understandable.
I would like to give her a huge compliment on her knowledge of poetry and rhetoric.

Miriam is a proficient English speaker at roughly a B1 level. Her comprehension is good, as is her self-expression with just a few areas of vocabulary and pronunciation to work on. I am looking forward to our next session!
