About Catherine
I am a qualified mathematics teacher with 3 years experience teaching secondary school and A-Levels in London, plus two years exam mentoring in schools and much voluntary work. My PGCE was at Kings College London which requires two masters level educational research projects, and I studied education alongside maths in my undergraduate. I therefore base my teaching methods on the theoretical understanding I gained from this, numerous training events, and most importantly from the experience I have gained working with young people. I believe mathematics can be enjoyable and rewarding but understand that it can also be incredibly challenging. Therefore I am to create a stimulating, non-judgemental working environment with mathematical activities suited to the young person I am working with. I am currently studying a masters part time in Environmental Science which is why I am not working full time.
