About Elise
As a former primary school and GCSE student, I struggled a great deal with concentration and focusing, especially since the majority of my classes were oversubscribed and the teacher couldn't cater to everyone's needs.
Sometimes going to class was a burden because I knew I couldn't expect a quality lesson. This took the joy out of enjoying learning because I felt as if I was behind and struggling more than my peers.
What I didn't know was that I needed extra support, and that support wasn't being offered to me. If reading this sounds familiar, you are not alone. The first step to improving is acknowledging that help is needed to give you the next step.
I would like to offer my help on your journey of learning! Because I wholeheartedly believe no one should feel they are not good enough to be in a classroom, or to ask for support. Learning is for everyone, you just need to find what works for you, and that is what I would like to help you discover.

I offer tutoring for primary school students (English and Maths) and also GCSE students (English literature and language). Whether you are looking to build a strong foundation in primary English and maths or get top grades in your English essays, I am more than happy to be of assistance!
I don't believe in a one size fits all approach. I adapt my teaching style to match the child/student's energy, ensuring they feel heard and seen throughout the session.
My approach to teaching:
- Primary:
Having worked in a primary school, I know how to keep kids engaged. I use the same methods teachers use but with the 1 on 1 support the classroom usually lacks.
- GCSE:
I focus on the "cheat codes" and simplifying essay techniques, grade 9 language structure and essay writing which is what the examiner wants to see.
Logistics:
- lessons are usually 60 mins (though I am flexible)

I have a passion for teaching and sharing my knowledge. I also have hands-on experience with teaching primary school children and have explained challenging concepts in school settings and I have supported special needs children with ADHD, dyslexia and high energy behaviour.
