About Sarah
English is my area of expertise; I have just completed my Masters degree with distinction at the University of Exeter, and am looking to start a PhD in 2021. Over the course of my BA(Hons) and MA degrees, I studied everything from philosophy to film to creative writing, so I'm passionate about an inter-disciplinary style of learning. I currently work at an international boarding school where I tutor face-to-face in everything from KS2 maths to critical theory for university applicants. Education is so important to me, and I hope to inspire a love of learning in my pupils that extends far beyond the exams in front of them.
Every student has different needs, and my sessions will be tailored to find each pupil's ideal learning style. It is this personalised approach that I believe holds the key to unlock a lifetime of learning opportunities. Are you more of a visual learner? That's great! We'll work together on virtual whiteboards to chart out answers and essay plans that you can print out and pin up around your room. Do you prefer listening to reading? Fab! We can work out a plan to make audio-recordings for you to revise your topics while you're on the go. I encourage a lot of feedback and discussion from my tutees, and I can't wait to bounce ideas with you and hear all of your thoughts on what we're studying, no matter how whacky! Using your preferred methods, we'll work together towards your goals and start you on a journey of learning that will last a lifetime.
