About Lucy
As an undergraduate student studying at a top university who has more recently taken and succeeded in the new GCSE and A-Level exams, I can relate more keenly to the struggles and stresses of my students. I have been using the resources that I created and used to allow me to achieve almost all grade 9s at GCSE for the past 4 years to help students like me achieve their potential. My mission is to help demystify practical study skills and develop in my students analytical rigour so that they can achieve the grades they are capable of.

I like to tailor my lessons around the specific learning styles of my students so I will spend our first session getting to know how you learn best.
In a typical 1hr session we will:
1. Focus on a topic a student is unclear about by doing lots of exam style questions and marking as we go.
2. Reviewing problems the student has had that week.
3. Quick fire revision from difficult topic from previous sessions.
I aim to make our sessions as productive and helpful for you as possible so we will co-create our sessions and I will provide time for regular feedback.

I teach maths, English, physics, chemistry and biology up to GCSE level.

Yes, I also offer a discount on block booking.
When are you available?
My timetable is quite flexible. I am happy to work week days after school and weekends.
Which ages and levels do you teach?
The majority of my students are studying for their GCSE but generally between the ages of 12-16.
Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
Just GCSEs at the moment.
Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
I use Zoom online sessions since it has many tools and features specially designed for interactive and visual learning. I am fully equipped with modern gadgets for e-learning. I use Google drive and docs to share files.

Good tutor, approaches each topic with patience and step by step explanations.
Lucy tutored my daughter in GCSE physics last year. I was at first sceptical about online tutoring but was forced to be the pandemic, it proved to be very effective. I watched my daughter grow in confidence, after being predicted at grade 6, she ended up achieving an unbelievable grade 8 and is now studying it for A Level. I can’t recommend Lucy enough.
