About Pierre-Yves
I am a passionate person: when I love something, I concentrate all my efforts to go to the end of what I undertake. This concerns the subjects that teaching, of course, but also sport (I run twice a week, go to work by bike), history, literature and a wide variety of subjects (economics, computer science, sociology, etc.).
If I had to summarise the philosophy that guides me, I would say that happiness is the main thing. It sounds simple, but life is full of moments that lead us to choose or not to choose happiness, and the choice is rarely as obvious as one might think.

I'm deeply convinced that the mastering and the deep comprehension of a course is the key to improving. It is the strategy I have used throughout my academic path and it showed great results. That's why I put mental representation and visualization of the concept at the core of my pedagogy.
As a graduate of the French Ecole polytechnique, I teach Maths and Physics for GCSE or A-level (I have been accepted to every top engineering school of France and also to the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Paris, and I'm ranked 80th over 500 in my promotion with a GPA of 3.91). Given that French is my native language and that I'm comfortable with English (maximum score in Linguaskill), I can teach in French and English. The lessons can be one or two hours.
I have already been a Maths tutor for an entire year for a class of students (oral examinations, three times a week).
I currently live in Cranleigh to do some research on space topics, and I'll go back to France at the end of July.
