My teaching method is to start with pronunciation. I believed to many people are scared to speak because of their accent.
And then introducing grammar rules in a context. For instance, when ordering in a restaurant, you will need to translate 'I would like'. So you will need to learn the conditional tense.
And then speaking, speaking, speaking. The more you try the fastest you are going to learn. You will improved a lot if you are trying to communicate ideas, taught, and if you are curious.
It will be wise to have small written home work, to express more complex ideas and to structure more complex sentences.
